We’ve taken our Referral system to the next level.
You’ll now earn Referral Points whenever someone you invited uses Layer3
If your referred friend successfully invites someone else thereafter, you can earn additional Referral points for these secondary referrals
We’ve calculated and backfilled points from your previous referrals
To celebrate, you can earn 2x Referral Points until May 21st
It's more rewarding than ever to share and grow the Layer3 ecosystem together.

What about my previous referrals?
Don’t worry! If you’ve already invited new and active users, we’ve calculated and backfilled points from the referrals you’ve driven so far. And you’ll continue to accrue referral points, if your referral network, new or old, uses Layer3.
How are referral points calculated?
You’ll earn Referral Points equivalent to 16% of XP from people you've invited, and 8% of XP from secondary referrals (people they invite). Only XP earned from eligible onchain actions count toward referrals.
For example: if your referred friend earns 100 XP from eligible actions, you'll receive 16 Referral Points. If they invite someone who earns 50 XP, you'll receive an additional 4 Referral Points (8% of 50 XP).
What actions are eligible to count towards Referral Points?
To help prevent Sybil and bot activity, only Quests and Streaks with onchain requirements — such as CUBE Mints successfully completed by your referral network — count towards your Referral Points.
Will people with lots of referrals level-up faster?
Referral Points are distinct from XP which is the driver for Layer3 levels.
What are Referral Points used for?
After the initial Genesis Airdrop has completed, Referral Points will be one of several multipliers used for subsequent $L3 community airdrop allocations. Referral Points help quantify your contribution to growing the network, but they are not a minimum nor must-have criteria to be eligible for community airdrops.
How can I see how many Referral Points I’m earning?
You can track your overall Referral Points, and see recent activity in your referral network, on the new referrals page. From here, you can see a leaderboard showing which of your invited friends are the most recently active!
Where can I find my referral link?
Your unique referral link can be found on the referrals page and the rewards page. You’ll also find referral links on any Quest, Collection or Community page, which is a great way to share specific content with friends, and benefit if they sign-up to Layer3 as a result.
Referral links are backwards compatible with our previous system, so you’re covered for any older posts you may already have shared.
Will I still earn ETH if someone mints a CUBE with my link?
Yes, the CUBE credential fee referral reward splits are unchanged.
Earn double Referral Points for the next week!
To celebrate the launch of this new feature, you can earn double referral points for the next 7 days. (From May 14th - May 21st). Bonus points will be applied to your score after this period ends.
